Quake Test (which does come with an extra map to add into the game maps directory with enemies in it) as well as the pre-release version, are both prototype versions of one of id Software’s titular 1996 games that had been well praised ever since, and as a bonus, the prototype version of Quake II was added too.
For the Quake prototypes aside from the Quake II one, they both require DOSbox or among other DOS emulators to run them.
